Gorilla Tag is a VR multiplayer game where you play as a gorilla and swing around using only your hands. It's the kind of game that sounds ridiculous on paper but completely hooks you once you're in it. Right now it's a pure VR title, so you need a headset like Quest or SteamVR to jump in. It's not on regular android phones or consoles like Xbox or Switch, though you can find it on the Meta Quest Store and Steam. The game launched back in early 2021 and blew up fast through word of mouth. On the Quest store it's free to download and install, and there are no ads. There are in-game purchases for cosmetics, usually a few bucks for a hat or a little accessory, nothing that affects gameplay. You can grab it from the official store, and the app has millions of installs at this point, which says a lot for a game made by a small team.

Playing Gorilla Tag is simple to learn but takes real practice. You move by pushing off surfaces with your hands, so your arms are basically your legs. No buttons, no sticks, just raw arm movement. The best part is the social chaos. You hop into lobbies and it's just a bunch of gorillas running from each other, playing tag, or messing around in custom game modes.
